The Chair of Economic Ethics (Prof. Dr. Ingo Pies) at Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, with the financial support of the Dieter-Schwarz-Foundation, awards on 1 June 2010 (or later) a Doctoral Scholarship for a period of 24 months (prolongation possible)

Your Profile:
- A strong interest in economic theory and business ethics.
- Ambitions for science, even beyond a dissertation.
- Sound knowledge in economic modeling and rational-choice analysis.
- Analytical thinking and strong interest in interdisciplinarity.
- Excellent knowledge of English.
- A degree (Diploma, Magister or Master) with excellent grades.

Our Offer:
- A doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) at the Law and Economics Faculty at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg.
- Intensive support during your project. The Chair for Economic Ethics works with the ordonomic approach of an economic incentive ethics. According to this approach, the institutional framework of markets has a systematic significance for the implementation of moral concerns. You will receive an intensive introduction to this way of thinking and take part in ongoing discussions.
- Integration with a young and creative team; close contact with the ,,scientific community".
- A workplace at the Law and Economics Faculty of the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg.
- A scholarship of 1,000 Euro per month for a period of 24 months (prolongation possible).

- The aim to present your research results at conferences and to publish in academic journals with peer-review.
- A creative commitment to the concerns of ordonomic ethics.
- Willingness to use economic modeling and rational-choice analysis in your doctoral project.
- A high degree of ambition and initiative in research and publication activities.
- Regular attendance at the Chair for Economic Ethics at the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg.
