PAEDIATRIC ANAESTHESIA FELLOWSHIP TRAINING IN KENYA - 2011

Access to safe anaesthesia and pain relief following surgery could be considered a basic
human right in the 21st century. International standards for the safe practice of anaesthesia,
adopted by the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA) in 1992, are
seldom met in developing countries. It is not surprising that in these countries peri-operative
mortality and morbidity is high by developed world standards; but local expectations are
commensurate with the facilities and quality of the available care. (Read More on Paediatric Fellowship 2011 (http://www.anaesthesiakenya.co.ke/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_download&gid=39&Itemid=23)).
