Sponsored LinksApplications are invited for research scholarships available for researchers in Latin America and Caribbean, Africa and Asia. This call is open for candidates from all disciplines of Social and Human Sciences, as well as for researchers from other sciences with projects related to the main theme of this year: "work and welfare in the South". The goal of these awards is to encourage original research on the subject and to promote the final work through presentation at an international seminar. Nine scholarships will be awarded in total, three for each region. Application should be submitted till June 1, 2014.

Study Subject (s):This call is open for candidates from all disciplines of Social and Human Sciences, as well as for researchers from other sciences with projects related to the main theme of this year: "work and welfare in the South".Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing research programme.Scholarship Provider: The Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) and the International Development Economics Associates (IDEAs).Scholarship can be taken at: Latin America and Caribbean, Africa and Asia

Eligibility: Applicants must be experienced researchers who have a master´s or doctoral degree. It is a required condition to reside in any country in Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa or Asia and to have the endorsement of CLASCO, CODESRIA or IDEAs, according to the region concerned. Applicants must speak English so they can present the results of research in an international academic seminar.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Students of Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa or Asia can apply for these research scholarships.

Scholarship Description: The Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) and the International Development Economics Associates (IDEAs) announce the launch of the South-South Scholarships Award 2014 for research on the theme "Work and Welfare in the South" aimed at social scientists from Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa and Asia. The goal of these awards is to encourage original research on the subject and to promote the final work through presentation at an international seminar.

Number of award(s): Nine (9) scholarships will be awarded in total, three (3) for each region.

Duration of award(s): Scholarship is awarded for nine (9) months of work between July, 1st 2014 and March, 15th 2015.

What does it cover? Each scholarship includes:a) A monetary award of USD 10,000 (ten thousand dollars);b) Air Ticket and accommodation to participate in an international seminar (date and venue will be decided in due course by the organizing institutions).
