This thread will provide detailed information of Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) in Finland that will conduct their entrance examinations abroad between April - May 2011. This thread will give further insight into which UAS to choose in your application which commences in January 2011.
The case will be treated according to the provision of individual UAS. You are free to ask any question while posting the information here.

The entrance examinations will be held at Arcada in April 2011 and for the degree programmes in International Business and Plastics Technology also abroad.

If you are invited to an examination, you will receive an invitation letter by mail (letters are posted 18 March onwards). Detailed information on places and dates will be sent to the applicants in the invitation letter.
JAMK (or JAMK's partners) is willing to organise entrance examinations at least in the following countries if there are enough eligible applicants per degree programme:

Lahti UAS is co-operating with FINNIPS-group consisting of 21 UAS's (FINNIPS = Finnish network for International Programmes). The entrance examination can be taken either in Finland or outside Finland in one of the countries where FINNIPS organises them.

All applicants who have demonstrated their eligibility will be invited to the entrance examination.
The applicant will only be invited to the entrance examinations by his/her highest option in the same co-operating programme and the result will be accepted by the other UAS's.

Savonia UAS is co-operating with Finnish Network for International Programmes (FINNIPS) which organizes entrance examinations in several countries.
In addition to Finnips entrance examinations, Savonia UAS organizes entrance examinations in Petroskoi if there are enough eligible applicants.

All polytechnics/UAS arrange entrance examinations and many polytechnics/UAS co-operate in the entrance examinations. This means that an entrance examination completed at one polytechnic/UAS is accepted by another. Please note that some polytechnics/UAS require that you participate in their own entrance examination.
Some polytechnics/UAS arrange entrance examinations abroad and some only in Finland.

Seinajoki University of Applied Sciences (SeAMK) Entrance Examinations outside Finland
The SeAMK International Business and SeAMK Nursing degree programmes organise entrance examinations also outside Finland. Most of the examinations are organized in cooperation with the FINNIPS network (Finnish Network for International Programmes).
The entrance examinations outside Finland will be held on 11-17 April 2011. Information on the exact dates, locations and other procedures concerning the examinations will be sent to all eligible applicants in the invitation letter.

Entrance Examinations in Exceptional Cases in the Finnish Embassies Abroad
In exceptional cases the entrance examination may be taken on the same day as in Finland in the Finnish Embassies in European, Asian or North- and South-American countries (http://www.formin.fi (http://www.formin.fi) -> Diplomatic missions) or in the Finnish Cultural and Academic Institutes abroad (http://www.institute.fi (http://www.institute.fi)), if the country in question is not already mentioned in the lists above. Exams cannot, however, be arranged in honorary consulates. The entrance examination arrangements will have to be agreed on with the Admissions Office of Oulu University of Applied Sciences. International applicants will receive detailed instructions for procedures that need to be undertaken in the invitation letter. Note that it depends on the goodwill, resources and facilities of the Embassies and Cultural Institutes, if they are able to supervise the exams for the candidates. Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences (UAS) organise entrance exams abroad in cooperation with the so called FINNIPS network (Finnish Network for International Programmes). Rovaniemi UAS will invite applicants who have demonstrated their eligibility and language skills by the set date to participate in the entrance exams in the countries listed.

DP in Innovative Business Services: China, Nepal, Vietnam, Russia, Poland, Hungary, Latvia, Czech Republic, Germany, Bulgaria, Turkey, Great Britain, Rumania
DP in Tourism: China, Nepal, Vietnam, Russia, Poland, Hungary, Latvia, Czech Republic, Germany, Bulgaria, Turkey, Great Britain, Rumania
EXAMS IN EMBASSIES
RAMK is also providing the possibility to do your entrance examination in the Finnish embassy in your home country. Most of the embassies are in cooperation with RAMK but this possibility is not guaranteed in all countries. However, keep in mind that embassies will charge a certain amount of money for their services (50-400 € per candidate) that will have to be paid by you. Coming to Rovaniemi for the exams is always free of charge but you will have to cover your own travel costs.
The embassies in question will be informed to the applicant.

Vaasa University of Applied Sciences Entrance examinations outside Finland
The invitation letters to the entrance examinations will be sent in the middle of March 2011 to all eligible applicants. Entrance examinations outside Finland will be held during week 15 in April 2011. Details of the venues and dates will be informed to the applicants in the invitation letter.
Vaasa University of Applied Sciences is part of FINNIPS - network.
In 2011 entrance examination will be held in the countries below. We also invite applicants to the entrance examinations from neighboring countries (inside brackets).
Notice! Degree programme in International Business will not participate in the entrance examinations in Bangladesh or Nepal. Degree programme in Tourism will not participate in exams in Ghana or Kenya.
