Responsibilities: – Implement web/mobile features and REST services as needed – Develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable, high- quality software for our technology platform and products – Contribute to continuous improvement of software development best practices in the areas of coding tools, languages and APIs, as well as software design and development processes – Ensure software quality of development team and coordinate with QA team and client UAT team – Take an active role in team Agile rituals.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Required Experience: – Minimum of eight (8) years of software engineering, building n-tier applications with enterprise Java (EJB, JDBC, Servlets, JSP, JSTL, JMS). – Deep understanding of Object-Oriented design and analysis including Java design patterns, and Object to Relational Mapping tools – Previous work writing to network-based APIs, preferably REST/JSON, XML/SOAP – Experience using common Java tools and frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, JPA, Struts2, HTTP, Axis, CXF, Restlet, MVC patterns, Eclipse IDE, SoapUI, Maven, or Ant – Experience with Web development mark-up and scripting languages such as HTML, XML, XSLT, JavaScript, JQuery, and cascading style sheets (CSS) Demonstrated experience with test driven development and related tools (JUnit, DBUnit, CruiseControl, Hudson, etc.) – Experience leading and coordinating the work of developers using agile practices – Experience in business process models and the related data elements/model – Very good knowledge of relational database technology and SQL – A desire to work with the latest tools, technologies, and methodologies.

Bonus Experience (You will be at an advantage if you have these): – Experience in project management in a software development environment – Expertise in web services (SOAP, RESTful, XML/ POX, ESB, etc.) – Knowledge of The Spring Framework Features including Spring Core, Spring Webflow, Spring Integration, Spring Security, and Spring Batch. – Experience working with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL or other relational databases by generating SQL, stored procedures, views, sequences, and triggers – Experience in system integration, and enterprise- wide implementation of business solution – Proactive desire to continue to broaden and deepen technical, business and consulting skills – Experience working in UNIX/Linux environments or Cygwin – Excellent leadership, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

Education: – Bachelors degree in computing or related discipline with strong academic record required – A relevant postgraduate degree will be an advantage.
