University College Dublin is offering graduate scholarships for international students who are registered as UCD SPIRe students over the period of the Scholarship. Scholarships will be awarded to participate in the UCD SPIRe graduate programme (PhD and Masters) and provide training, experience and mentorship necessary to applicant's professional development. These Graduate Scholarships will comprise a tax-free annual stipend of €3,400 payable in ten equal monthly installments. PhD scholarships will be awarded for a period of four years and Master scholarships are tenable for one year. The application deadline is 1 July 2014.

Eligibility:-Scholarships will be awarded only to those who are registered as UCD SPIRe students over the period of the Scholarship.

- Applications will be accepted from suitably qualified applicants regardless of nationality or residence. Applicants, however, must make their own visa/consular arrangements to ensure that they are eligible to reside in Ireland for the duration of their studies. Applicants must also evidence capacity to teach at graduate level through the medium of English.

-Applicants are expected to have an excellent undergraduate degree from a highly regarded third level institution and to be qualified for direct admission to the UCD SPIRe graduate programme of their choice. A provisional offer of a Graduate Scholarship may be subject to specified conditions.

-Successful applicants must have applied for admission to a thematic or disciplinary PhD programme of the UCD School of Politics and International Relations or one of its Masters programmes and be formally enrolled by the start of the semester.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Students from all nationality or residence can apply for these graduate scholarships.

Scholarship Description: The overall aim of the UCD SPIRe Graduate Scholarships is to attract applicants of the highest academic standards to participate in the UCD SPIRe graduate programme and provide them with the training, experience and mentorship necessary to their professional development.

Duration of award(s): In the case of PhD applicants, scholarships will normally be awarded for a period of four years, subject to annual review. For Masters applicants, scholarships are tenable for one year and are non-renewable. The Scholarship will terminate on any student's withdrawal from their programme.

What does it cover? Graduate Scholarships will comprise a tax-free annual stipend of €3,400 payable in ten equal monthly installments plus a fee remission of up to half the scheduled EU fee of the programme to which they are registered.

Selection Criteria: Applications will be evaluated and ranked by a Selection Board according to the following criteria:

-Academic excellence;

-The academic testament of referees;

-Prior experience and formation in chosen field of study, including prior professional experience and training;

-Potential contribution to the School;

-Candidate's career potential.
