Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) is the pioneer and leader of the petroleum industry in Nigeria. It is capable of producing an average of over one million barrels of oil equivalent per day. The company's operations are concentrated in the Niger Delta and adjoining shallow offshore areas where it operates in an oil mining lease area of around 30,000 square kilometres.

Responsibilities:

Data Control Lead will:

1) Liaise with relevant support groups to deliver and configure data management tools to support management of data through the project lifecycle.

2) Ensure successful and regular data validation / business assurance and handover to Operations.

3) Maintain the project reference data libraries for each data-oriented application – ensuring maximum alignment to the Global RDL (Reference Data Library).

4) Ensure that Data Management Plans are developed & implemented by the major execution contractors and equipment vendors.

5) Manage collection,integration,and validation of data from contractors and/or internal project stakeholders into central data repository.

6) Develop,prepare and issue data reports (progress of data delivery per contractor).

7) Prepare Data handover to all parties i.e. Commissioning,OR&A,Operations,relevant to the handover needs of the next project phase

8) Provide on-boarding training and co-ordinate the work of project team members dealing with Data Control.

9) Assist OR&A in developing approach to CMMS build and ensuring all requirements are conveyed to delivery groups.

Supervise a team of project data controllers and / or manage data control services rendered by a third party provider,often split over a number of locations around the World.

Requirements:

Previous Experience and Exposure:

a) Substantial / Extensive experience in Information Management in Capital Projects; previous exposure as a Data Controller is desirable.

b) Previous experience of working in an Asset O&M team will be a distinct advantage.

c) Previous experience of OR&A activities including CMMS build and of managing as-built data and documents;

d) Experience of working with Engineering Data Warehouse (EDW) systems preferable.

2) Technical and Business Skills:

a) Sound understanding of the Project and Maintenance Engineering environment and awareness of the associated business processes.

b) Good working knowledge of the Project Data Control and relevant processes, familiar with data-modeling methodology.

Key Competencies:

• Skilled level of knowledge and experience on Shell standards and practices for Project IM related to data control and handover processes.

• Skilled level of knowledge of DEP 82.00.10.30-Gen (Engineering Information Specification).

• Knowledge of project management and engineering process and interaction with Project Engineers and Discipline engineers.

• Skilled level of knowledge and experience of common data-centric applications such as maintenance management, CSU, EDW, 2D CAD, 3D Model, etc.

• Skilled level of knowledge of common data validation and inter-exchange methodologies and tools applied in industry.

• Moderate presentation, negotiation and written communication skills.

• Moderate leadership capability.
