The EUROSA group awards 88 grants in total to support South African mobility to Europe at master, PhD and staff level. The duration of the mobility periods may vary from 1 to 34 months according to type and level of mobility. Grants include a monthly allowance, health insurance, tuition fees (if applicable) and travel costs from South Africa to Europe.

Who can apply? 

·         South African nationals only
·         master students, PhD students and staff studying or working at one of the South African partner institutions  (= TARGET GROUP 1)
·         master students and PhD students a) registered at one of the South African universities that are not part of the EUROSA network or b) master students and PhD students having obtained a first diploma at a South African higher education institution (= TARGET GROUP 2)

The EUROSA group encourages the participation of historically disadvantaged, economically deprived, and disabled individuals with excellent academic potential.

Scholarships

The EUROSA project will award 88 mobility scholarships in total to South African students, researchers and staff. 68 scholarships will be granted to South African students and scholars who are affiliated to one of the partner institutions (= Target Group 1), 20 scholarships will be granted to South African students and scholars from non-partner institutions (= target group 2).

The scholarship includes:

    * Subsistence allowance
          o 1000 € per month for master students
          o 1500 € per month for PhD students
          o 2500 € per month for academic staff
    * Health insurance
    * Tuition fee (if applicable)
          o Maximum amount covered = 3000 €
    * Travel costs
          o Maximum amount covered = 2000 €

·         Business Studies, Management Science
·         Education, Teacher Training
·         Engineering, Technology
·         Geography, Geology
·         Mathematics, Informatics
·         Medical Sciences
·         Natural Sciences
·         Social Sciences
·         Communication and Information Sciences
·         Others including Sport Science, Alternative Energy Resources, Climate Change, Sustainable Development, Nautical Science, ...
