The Obama administration will allow an import ban on older Samsung phones (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-10-08/samsung-loses-bid-for-presidential-veto-of-apple-won-import-ban.html) two months after letting Apple off a similar hook. The ban, however, is largely meaningless, as it only affect older Samsung phones that mostly aren't sold any more at major carriers in the U.S.

The administration's decision to uphold the import ban follows Obama's decision to veto a similar ban on older iPhones and iPads (http://readwrite.com/2013/08/05/white-house-takes-small-step-to-patent-reform-by-vetoing-iphone-ban#awesm=~ojIkDyXv0N8sv3) in August.
