Job Description:
Responsible for creating, improving and managing complex safety and health programs for HP that are utilized worldwide and in alignment with HP's commitment to providing a safe and healthy workplace.
Global programs that will be managed by this position will include: – HP's environmental, health and safety (EHS) training program, which entails working with HP's Learning and Development group to develop new training, forecast and manage the quarterly budget, ensure proper training record management, and manage 'EHS University'. – Contractor EHS Management, including working with Global Procurement, the supply chain and others to improve the program scoring tools and the vetting of new suppliers. – Other Health and Safety programs may include areas such as electrical safety, Health and Safety Technical Committee oversight, ergonomics for teleworkers and helping to determine acceptable furniture and accessory selection, nanotechnology, driver safety and Due Diligence.
Additionally, this position will: – Lead teams focusing on yearly objectives or process improvement initiatives comprised of EHS professionals representing the four regions. Also, will lead, or participate in, Health and Safety Technical Committees which focus on current Health and Safety challenges. – Be a safety and/or industrial hygiene expert resource, who answers questions and provides consultation to solve complex issues. – Participate and lead Global EHS audits.
This position can be located in any country, worldwide.
Travel will be approximately 10%
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required: – Bachelor of Science in Safety or Industrial Hygiene. Master of Science in Safety or Industrial Hygiene, strongly preferred. – Eight years of experience managing and implementing complex health and safety programs
Knowledge and Skills Required: – Certification in Safety (CSP) or Industrial Hygiene (CIH) or equivalent proof of technical competence. – Excellent communication and presentation skills, in English.
