Experience:

• Minimum of 15 years relevant experience, of which at least 5 in a similar position.

• Previous Nigerian / West African experience is advantageous.

Education:

• Technical / engineering qualification preferred.

• IWCF well control at supervisory level or equivalent.

Requirements:  

• Exemplary HSE leadership.

• Strong drive for continuous performance improvement.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of leading effectively in a multi-cultural society.

• Sound knowledge of drilling engineering and international industry standards, ideally acquired while working for a large international operator.

• Good organisational and project management skills, ensuring efficient application of the company's well delivery and commercial processes.

• Contracts and contractor management.

This challenging leadership position requires a pragmatic achiever with excellent hands-on management skills, who can successfully develop and lead a rig team to routinely deliver top performance in a safe manner.

Rig team comprises members with varied levels of experience and competence, requiring supervision, guidance and mentorship. Frequently, only a minimum of line supervision and support can be provided so the right candidate must be capable and confident to make his own decisions, yet always act in accordance with the department's direction, objectives, standards and values.

This requires amongst others a balanced personality, professional humbleness as well as an acute awareness of the need for close and efficient communication and cooperation with ones peers and line management.

Demonstrable commitment, motivation and the drive to complete an accepted assignment, supported by a stable recent employment history, is essential.

Previous experience in a similar position is a necessity.
