Our client is a global group of energy and petrochemical companies. Employing over 100,000 personnel in around 90 countries their strategy is to reinforce their position as a leader in the Oil & Gas industry.

They are currently recruiting for the position of Senior Cost Estimator, based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Job Description:

To provide cost estimates in support of delivery of The Client's Onshore/Shallow offshore projects. The position spans all estimating activities from Front-End conceptual studies Onshore/shallow offshore projects through to Value Optimization of existing assets.

•   Provide cost estimating input into Field Developments, new projects, plant or facility upgrades and Operations in terms of screening studies, budget control, cost database management, including contingency determination.

•   Review existing cost systems and methods for compliance with the Client and Group standards and recommend actions to correct deficiencies.

•   Participate in project cost audits/reviews, and QRAs during concept development, conceptual and detailed design. Participate in VARs, ESARs, peer assists and technical challenge sessions to ensure consistent application of The Client Cost estimating standards.

•   Perform internal and external benchmarking (i.e. against historical performance, industry norms and established KPIs) to improve and optimise costs.

•   Develop own skills and competence in line with changing business needs and technical advances in Cost Estimating and keep abreast of new developments, both within The Client and other industries.

Skills & Experience:

•   A university degree in Engineering, Science or Quantity Surveying,

•   Significant experience, preferably in a project environment in the E&P business.

•   Working knowledge of cost estimating including estimating systems, tools and practices.

•   Good inter-personal and leadership skills.

•   Good communications skills (i.e. report writing and presentation) are essential.

This is a contract position.

The rate for this position is negotiable.
