Job Title: Backup Engineer
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Organisation: Mara Ison Technologies (member of Mara Group of Companies)
Responsibilities:
• Installation, configuration and maintenance of tape libraries
• Resolve escalated customer issues and manage escalations
• Advanced troubleshooting of backup and restore failures on Microsoft Windows Server (2003,2008) and Linux Redhat (4x, 5x), and databases including Microsoft SQL 2003, 2005, 2008 (including Enterprise, Standard, Express versions), Oracle (8i, 9i, 10g) and Mysql (4x, 5x). Perform data restorations for up to and including moderately complex restores including both Windows Server Clusters and Linux Clusters, upon customer request
• Bachelor\'s degree (B.S.)/ MCSE / MCITP / Certification in backup Solutions
• Knowledge: Knowledge of Symantec Backup solutions is a definite plus
• Advanced understanding backup job scheduling for file system and database backups
• Self-motivated; ability to maintain excellence in service with minimum supervision
