Job Title: Pipeline Engineer – Projects

The Job: The appointee will be required to provide pipeline engineering support for the safe, cost-effective and timely execution and commissioning of various pipeline projects along the assigned point GTS- Gas Transmission Systems, and Right of Way within approved HSES and asset integrity standards and ensuring fit-for-purpose pipeline technologies and optimization of NLNG pipeline asset life cycle cost while meeting NLNG's Goal Zero HSE Objectives.

The Duties:

The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

•   Assist in preparing pipelines engineering specification for construction, installation, and pre-commissioning with good understanding of welding and NDT techniques and pipeline protection systems.

•   Support pipeline project delivery by providing technical, community affairs, HSE, security and commercial direction comprising of design checks, material procurement, tendering/contract management, site supervision and interface management activities to ensure quality delivery of own portfolio of projects.

•   Ensure contractor performance at all stages of pipeline projects by maintaining business and technical controls and cost challenges, and undertake compliance audits to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions and appropriate delivery of all contract deliverables.

•   Liaise and manage interfaces with following key stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of pipeline projects –Product flow asset teams, commercial/contract services, and procurement, external relations, HSE, tender board, senior management, and NLNG Board sub-committees as appropriate, host communities, DPR and others as may be necessary.

•   Assist in the evaluation and selection of methods for the construction and pre-commissioning for pipelines, project QA/QC coordination and in integrated audit teams contributing own expertise into technical (e.g. HAZOPS, design reviews, etc), Quality (ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System), HSE and Business Control audits.

•   Assist in pipelines handover to operations with required operating procedures, inspection and maintenance plans, Management of Change documents (MOC), NLNG Permit to Work system, as built drawings, engineering data books including NDT records, performance standards, and fitness for start-up certificates.

•   Assist in monitoring development of emerging and evolution of existing pipeline technologies to achieve reduction in life cycle costs and continuous improvement in long-term operational performance of NLNG Pipelines and Gas Transmission Systems.

The Person:

The right candidate should:

•   Possess a bachelor's degree (minimum of Second Class Upper) in Petroleum, Metallurgical, Mechanical, Chemical and Civil Engineering.

•   Possess a minimum of 7 years post-NYSC experience; out of which minimum of 4 years must have been spent in a pipeline construction, maintenance, engineering, operation or project position in a reputable organization, preferably an Oil & Gas company.
