Job Title: Drilling/Subsurface Engineer

Location: Warri, Nigeria

Recruiter: Alvy Consulting

Job Summary: – This role will set up and manage the rig and all support services contracts for efficient execution of the company's oil and gas drilling and completions program, and also manage the company's drilling and completion campaign from planning through to execution. This role will coordinate the Supply Chain process of Well Engineering equipments for cost effective project delivery.  – This role will lead a team of drilling/completion and well test engineers in planning and supporting the safe & efficient delivery of development, exploration and appraisal wells in water-depths up to 700ft, offshore Nigeria.

Primary Responsibilities:

•   Coordinate service contractors to ensure that high quality service are provided in accordance with their respective contracts.

•   Set up and manage the rig contract to ensure efficient service delivery.

•   Develop and manage the process for technical challenge and evaluation of well concepts and models.

•   Verify that assigned wells have gone through the required Quality Assurance process before commencement of drilling operations.

•   Deliver planned number of wells on budget, on schedule and to the quality standards specified in the well proposal.

•   Manage the interface with Subsurface and Operations Teams.

•   Liaises with the Community Relation Officers to work out strategies with the host communities to minimize disruption in well drilling and completion operations.

•   Manage the process of obtaining DPR approvals and other governmental permitting requirements.

•   Manage the progress of work on well drilling and completion activities assigned to his team.

•   Demonstrate a high commitment to HSE.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

•   Must have a degree in Engineering/Physical Sciences. MBA will be an added advantage.

•   Minimum of 15 years relevant experience on similar role, of which 10 years must be in well technology, planning, design and construction.

•   Knowledge of Subsurface Engineering.

•   Extensive experience involving semi's knowledge of onshore and jack-up operations would be beneficial.

•   Previous Nigerian/West African experience is advantageous

•   Possess professional drilling certificates (e.g Shell R1& R2 or equivalent).

•   Strong commercial skills, with deep knowledge of contracting process and strategic cost.
