The Reading Real Estate Foundation is awarding MSc Scholarship for a new postgraduate student from Africa. Successful students will receive the full degree tuition fees of their chosen Real Estate & Planning postgraduate programme and the opportunity to act as an Ambassador for RREF. Selection will be based on academic excellence combined with financial need. Before making a formal application, applicants must be holding an offer for a full-time postgraduate real estate & planning programme at Henley Business School for entry in 2014/2015. The application deadline is June 30th 2014.

Study Subject(s): Scholarship is awarded for the following programmes: MSc Real Estate/Real Estate Finance, MSc Development Planning, MSc Rural Land and Business Management, MSc International Planning and Sustainable Urban Planning or MSc in Housing Development and Management.

Course Level: Scholarship is available for pursuing full time postgraduate degree programme at Henley Business School, University of Reading.

Eligibility: Before you apply for a scholarship, please read the list of criteria below to ensure you meet all of the required points. The Reading Real Estate Foundation aims to award its scholarships to support and widen its diversity agenda. They hope to encourage talented students who might be deterred from applying to the University of Reading for financial reasons. Only in exceptional circumstances will those who do not meet all of the desired criteria be considered:

-You must show evidence of a strong academic record and that you are dedicated to your studies and include copies of your academic certificates and transcripts to date.

-You must clearly demonstrate financial need.

-You must be committed to representing the Reading Real Estate Foundation as a RREF Scholar

-You must be willing to submit a report on your progress and performance

-A RREF MSc Scholarship cannot provide the main financial support for your studies and you will be expected to be able to have funding for your remaining course fees and living costs

-You will be expected to complete the course in full. Should for any reason you have to leave the course before completion, all payments will be stopped immediately.

-If students do not receive their predicted mark in their undergraduate degree, the offer of a scholarship may be revoked.

-Students offered more than one Award from RREF/UoR/Henley Business School may accept only one award but can select which one. Students deciding to defer entry will forfeit any award but may re-apply.

-The award is only made to eligible students who successfully enter on a relevant degree programme in October 2014.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Students of Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Côte d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Western Sahara, Zambia and Zimbabwe can apply for this MSc scholarship.

Scholarship Description: The Reading Real Estate Foundation Scholarship Programme offers a scholarship for a new postgraduate student from Africa based on academic excellence combined with financial need. Country and Region Specific Awards will consider the domicile for the purposes of this award (not a student's national citizenship). Country specific awards are only available to students who have not previously studied in the UK.

What does it cover? Successful students will receive the full degree tuition fees of their chosen Real Estate & Planning postgraduate programme and the opportunity to act as an Ambassador for RREF. The award and the activities undertaken as part of this scheme will help develop your:

-Networking skills- Unparalleled networking opportunities.

-CV- A valuable and credible addition to your CV (Resume).

-RED Award – The work will be counted as a part of your Reading Experience and Development (RED) Award certificate.

-RREF Ambassadors will work closely with RREF on engaging and exciting projects including:

-RREF Student & Alumni Activities.

-Social media, through sharing their experiences with potential students.

-Attending sponsored events and exhibitions to promote RREF.

Selection Criteria: The RREF Disbursements Committee making the awards will consider all relevant factors including academic qualities, the original application, the application letter, the CV and any other relevant information (such as evidence of leadership contributions to an organisation, community or society) on individual merit. The decision of the committee is final.

Notification: Once a final decision has been agreed about your application we will contact you via email to advise you of the outcome. Students will be notified within one month of the application deadline.

How to Apply: Before making a formal application, applicants must be holding an offer for a full-time postgraduate real estate & planning programme at Henley Business School for entry in 2014/15. Answer all questions on the application form fully, preferably electronically although hand-written forms will be considered. Your completed application together with any evidence to support your application should be returned to Katie Dunbar via email (k.dunbar-at-rref.reading.ac.uk).
