Nigeria Needs N25.6 Trillion to Achieve MDG Targets

FG has disclosed that the sum of N25.6 trillion ($170.38 billion) expenditure would be required in key sectors of the economy to attain its Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015.

An average sum of $28.4 billion would be required to attain the goals which include reduction of poverty, improving primary education and promoting gender equality/women empowerment. Others include reduction of child mortality; improvement of maternal health, combat HIV/ malaria/ and other diseases, ensure environmental sustainability, as well as develop a global partnership for development.
