No fewer than three students of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja were killed when a suspected drunken driver, said to be a lecturer of the institution, knocked them down.
The lecturer was said to have knocked down one miss Taiwo Edilola Omolola, an HND1 student as she was about to board a commercial motorcycle from the campus while an eyewitness claimed the lecturer was on high speed when he hit the victim and two other students waiting to board a cab.
The witness added that the slain student was said to have got stucked under the lecturer's car wheel just ashe dragged her along the expressway.
The mutilated body was later pulled out and while making a detour to escape being lynched by an irate mob, he hit and killed two other students who were waiting to board a cab in the opposite direction.
While the Public Relations officer of the polytechnic, Mr Luke Yakubu confirmed the accident, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Ajayi Akansanmi said he was yet to confirm the incident.
