Title: 17 Academic Programmes in Kwara State University Accreditated by NUC!!

The latest information reaching us is that theNational Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited 17 academic programs in Kwara State University, (kwasu) this information was made public by the Vice Chancellor of the University, prof. Abdul Raseed Na'Allah.

The National Universities Commission has released the result of the first two phases of accreditation visits to KWASU in 2012.
In those two visits, a total of 17 academic programmes were reviewed by the various National Universities Commission, NUC panels and the University achieved 100% accreditation for all the programmes:
15 academic programs were given full accreditation, while only two had interim accreditation, meaning that none of the 17 programme presented by the University in the first two phases was denied accreditation.
The Kwara State University accredited programmes are:
- Accounting- (Interim)
- Business and Entrepreneurship- (Interim)
- Performing Arts
- Islamic Studies
- Christian Studies
- Linguistics
- English Language and Literary Studies
- Arabic Lang & Lit
- Geology
- Biochemistry
- Industrial Chemistry
- Mathematics
- Microbiology
- Plant and Environmental Biology
- Physics
- Economics
- Political Science
The National Universities Commission, NUC accreditation panels had on 27th to 30th of August 2012 reviewed programmes in the College of Humanities, Management and Social Science and between the 3rd to 7th ofMarch 2012 evaluated programmes in the College of Pure and Applied Sciences.
Results for the 3rd accreditation panel whichvisited the College of Information and Communication Technology and College of Education on the 26th of November 2012 is expected to be released soon, while the visit of the NUC to programmes in the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine will takeplace later this year 2013.
