The unusual postponement of UNIZIK resumption date for the 2012/2013 academic session has been blamed on the recent increment in the university's admission quota as granted by the Nigeria Universities Commission (NUC).
Before now, the registry of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka was permitted by the commission to admit about 4000 students annually.
The university however, following recent NUC reviews on the school has been granted more admission quota, and can now admit a maximum of 5,000 students per year.
As a result of the increase, the university had postponed the resumption date to enable various departments compile more names of students for the next admission list that will soon be released.
The new date for resumption has been set to 29th October, 2012.
Good luck to the students.
