The latest information reaching us is that UBA Foundation , the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of the United Bank of Africa, is organising the 2012 edition of the National Essay Competition for secondary schools in Nigeria.                                         
     The Programme is essay competition which involves giving out literatures books to secondary school students to help them re-kindle their flair for reading. The UBA Foundation programme involves mentoring and reading sessions with the students.
Competition Details for UBA National Essay Competition for secondary schools in Nigeria           
     The Entry procedures and rules for all interested applicants:
** Interested Applicants must attach copies of their original birth certificates or photocopies of international passport data page.
** Applicants MUST be a senior secondary school students in any of the Nigerian Secondary Schools.
** Interested Applicants should send in handwritten essay entries of not more than 750 words on the competition topic
** Applicants must submit their complete contact information, the contact info should include the following:
- school name and address,
- residential address,
- phone number and
- email address
Note: The educational grant is only applicable to applicants who intend to study in any African University.
As always, The Decision of the judges is Final.

"As an African President, what would your plans be for the educational sector?
UBA Essay Competition Prizes to be won
Winner: NGN1,000,000 (One Million Naira Only) towards university tuition/fees and a Brand New tear-robber Laptop.
1st Runner-Up : NGN750,000(Seven hundredand fifty thousand naira only) towards University tuition fees and a Brand New Laptop.
2nd Runner-Up : NGN500,000(Five hundred thousand naira only) towards University tuition fees and a Brand New Laptop.
Consolation Prizes will be given to the finalists.

The panel of 3 judges is made up of professors from reputable Nigerian Universities
