ENUGU—The Federal government through the Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA, has commenced major repairs on the long abandoned 200 km Enugu/Port-Harcourt Expressway to make the ever-busy road motorable before the festive period.
Four contractors have been engaged to handle different sections of the road with a mandate to carry out thorough repair of the failed portions, and not total reconstruction of the road which had been under deplorable condition and causing nightmare for road users.
Managing Director of FERMA, Mr. Gabriel Amuchi, who inspected the on-going maintenance job on the road, yesterday, noted that it had had challenges for over four years.
