• PhD in Social Science or equivalent

• Quantitative analysis skills

• Knowledge of higher education

• Familiarity with the policy process

• Knowledge of more than one national HE system

• Knowledge of languages other than English

• Ability to organise conferences and international workshops

• Ability to write for a policy as well as an academic audience

Scholarship Description:A self-motivated researcher with quantitative skills and an interest in policy is sought to join a newly-established programme of comparative higher education research within the expanding King's Policy Institute. The King's Policy Institute brings together centres and institutes working in the field of public policy and examining crucial social and ethical issues of importance to the international community and the UK.The International Centre for University Policy Research will form a core part of KPI, under the direction of Professor Alison Wolf, CBE. It will adopt an explicitly comparative and international perspective and combine a long-term research programme with direct policy commentary, including authorship of short pieces, and organisation of conferences and policy seminars.Duration of Awards:Scholarship is a Fixed-term contract for 36 months.What does it cover?The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications and experience, within the Grade 6 scale, currently £33,343 to £34,271, per annum, inclusive of £2,323 London Allowance, per annum.
