GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole Tuesday warned all Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) aspirants to desist from using thugs in today's primaries.
Oshiomhole, who addressed the aspirants at a meeting held at the Emporium Hotel in Benin City, said he had mobilised security personnel who would arrest any troublesome person found wanting.
The governor said he would ensure the prosecution of any aspirant using thugs to intimidate opponents.
He said: "We are deploying police, SSS and other security operatives to ensure that the primaries are free and fair. We are a party founded on certain democratic values where transparency, peace and orderliness prevail.
"This is an in-house contest. Any aspirants who bring thugs to disrupt the election will be arrested and prosecuted. You have no business in an area the party has not assigned to you. There will be free and fair primaries. Members will vote for who they want and vote out who they don't want."
