Title: Rep lauds public sessions on Constitution review
Post by: MrVan on Nov 12, 2012, 01:30 AM
WARRI—THE public sessions on the review of the 1999 Constitution, which were organised by the House of Representatives all over the 360 Federal Constituencies last weekend, have been described as the most ingenious way to ensure a broad-based participation in the review.

This view was expressed by the member representing Warri Federal Constituency, Mr. Daniel Reyenieju, while giving his keynote address in Warri on Saturday.

The event, which took place in the Assembly Hall of Federal Government College, Warri, was attended by a large number of people cutting across ethnic groups, political divide, including the governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.

In his remark to his constituents in Warri Federal Constituency, Reyenieju said: "This is the first time we are witnessing such  broad and constructive approach, whereby all the 360 Federal Constituencies in Nigeria will be involved in the same day.

"This process may not be totally perfect, but it is no doubt a most ingenious way to ensure both vertical and horizontal participations of the respective constituents."
