The Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) have made Harry Redknapp their number one target to take charge of the national team after being turned down by Andriy Shevchenko.
Former Ukraine international Shevchenko, 36, was the FFU's first choice to fill the void left byOleg Blokhin's departure for Dynamo Kiev in September. However, the ex-Chelsea man rejected the chance on Monday, believing himself to lack the required experience.
FFU chiefs met on Tuesday to discuss new targets and Redknapp, 65, emerged as the overwhelming favourite. Steps have now been taken to contact the former Tottenham manager.
