Post by: DT on Nov 28, 2012, 07:30 AM
Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) yesterday accused state governors of pressurising state legislators to weaken the labour movement in the country by moving labour matters from the exclusive to the concurrent list of the constitution

The NLC at an emergency National Working Committee meeting convened in Abuja headed by its President, Comrade Abdulwahed Omar, urged state Houses of Assembly not to give in to the governors demands.

NLC also condemned the threat by Plateau State Government to sack workers who have been on strike for about five months over the non payment of the N18, 000 national minimum wage.
