Job description:
• Lead a team of drilling/completion and well test engineers in planning and supporting the safe and efficient delivery of development, exploration and appraisal wells in water-depths between 19ft and 200ft, offshore Nigeria (OML-123).
• Operations involve the following special challenges:
o High angle / extended reach drilling,
o Casing cementations (long cement columns),
o Drilling depleted reservoirs,
o Use of splitter wellhead technology,
o Potential for deep leg penetrations (>150ft),
o Third party staff, service and equipment quality,
o Complex supply chain and logistics.
o Interaction with other (G&G) departments
Requirements:
Experience
• Minimum of 15 years relevant experience, of which at least 5 in a similar position.
• Extensive experience involving jack-up operations, knowledge of semi's and onshore operations would be beneficial.
• Previous Nigerian / West African experience is advantageous.
Education
• Technical / engineering qualification required.
• IWCF sub sea well control at supervisory level or equivalent.

• Excellent knowledge of drilling engineering and international industry standards, ideally acquired while working for a large international operator.
• Good organisation and project management skills, ensuring efficient application of the company's well delivery and commercial processes.
• Contracts and contractor management.
Terms & Conditions:
• Competitive day rate, paid overseas by first week of following month, net of Nigerian Income Tax. Travel days paid.
• Lagos based, 28 / 28 rotation.
• 12 months renewable contract based on performance.
• 3 years project duration. Upon completion, reassignment to other projects is a possibility.
• For this position preference will be given to Nigerian Nationals. In case expatriate candidates are selected, it is a prerequisite he/she is tasked to mentor and train a Nigerian understudy.
