By NBC News staff and wire reportsTwo people died when a passenger airliner rolled off the runway at Moscow's Vnukovo airport and broke apart on Saturday, the country's interior ministry said.

"After a hard landing, the plane split into three pieces," Yelena Krylova, chief spokeswoman for the airport, added in televised comments.
The Tupolev 204 jet rolled more than 1,600 feet onto a highway before breaking up, Elena Smirnikh, deputy spokesperson for Russia's emergency ministry, told NBC News.
Vesti reported that there were 12 people on board the aircraft operated by Moscow-based Red Wings Airlines. It was traveling from the Czech Republic.
