Job Title: Research Officer

To be responsible for the planning and implementation of research and policy advocacy activities, ensuring that project research and advocacy outputs meet client, corporate and programme quality standards.
Specific duties & responsibilities:
• The preparation of concept notes and budgets for implementation of research and advocacy activities.
• The management of research and advocacy activities
• Support the identification of programming opportunities for attaining the outcome of the research and advocacy component
• Provide desktop research support for the programme
• Provide editorial support for review of reports and outputs of research and advocacy activities
• Facilitate meetings and activities of NSRP Research Users Committee, NSRP Research Advisory Committee as well as other activities of the Research Component
• Financial and technical reporting to internal/external clients and customers, ensuring reporting standards are in accordance with client and corporate standards
• To support implementation all project monitoring and evaluation activities, including desktop studies, surveys and longitudinal studies
• To be responsible for capturing and communicating the findings from feedback on research and advocacy activities
Qualified candidates should possess the following:
• Bachelors' degree or Postgraduate diploma in Social Sciences.
• Clear ability to identify, design, plan, manage and evaluate research projects from initiation to completion. Clear ability to achieve the stated outputs and results and keep to budget as well as meet timescale and client satisfaction.
• Experience of preparing, reviewing and disseminating research reports.
