Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas says he has returned to training after the winter break intent on winning his place back in the team and helping his side put their recent problems behind them.
Casillas was surprisingly dropped by Madrid boss Jose Mourinho for the club's final game of 2012, with Antonio Adan starting instead in the 3-2 Primera Division loss at Malaga, but reports in the Spanish media this week say he will be back between the sticks for Sunday's clash with Real Sociedad at the Bernabeu.
"I am training to fight and battle to regain my place," Casillas said. "That is the objective I have marked out, that the coach will decide to count on me for the next game. I am not a machine and know I can improve. Then it will be up to the coach."
