Legendary Nigerian captain, Nwankwo Kanu is sure the country can end her long wait for a third African Cup of Nations title in South Africa next January.

The west africans last tasted success on the continent, 18 years ago in Tunisia when current boss Stephen Okechukwu Keshi lifted the trophy after a pulsating 2-1 win against the Chipolopolo of Zambia at the El-Mensah Stadium.

Since then the Super Eagles have made it to the final only once, in 2000 when they co-hosted the competition with Ghana but came out second best after losing the final 7-6 on penalty kicks to perenial rivals, Cameroun.

He declared '' I just hope the Super Eagles can make year 2013 a great one for us by lifting the African Cup of Nations title in South Africa ''.
