Title: Martins will not face any Levante sanction
Post by: Folami David on Jan 08, 2013, 09:46 PM
Rejected Super Eagles stricker Obafemi Martins will not be punished for his decision to stay back in Nigeria for a few more days after the Christmas break, I can confirm.
.
According to reports that came from Spain, the former Inter Millan stricker who has scored some crucial goals for the modest Spanish side since joining them last summer, has not been part of the team's three training sessions since the beginning of their year which means he was not availabale for selection in Levante's 3-1 defeat of Atletico Bilbao.
.
But his coach Juan Ignacio Martinez explained that the Nigerian will not be punished since he was given permission to take few more days back in his country so as to sort some problems relating to his tax papers before joining the rest of the squad in the new year.
.
The former Newcastle stricker has scored 6 goals in 11 apearances for Levante who are also campaigning in UEFA Europa League this season.

Thank God for that.
Since he was in Nigeria for a purpose he deserved no punishment
