Blackburn Rovers have made an approach for Blackpool manager Michael Appleton, according to a club statement.
Rovers are looking for a new boss after sacking Henning Berg, who spent just 57 days in charge, on December 27 and have placed caretaker duo Gary Bowyer and Terry McPhillips at the helm until the end of January.
However, they are still keen to bring a new man in to help arrest a slide which has seen them slip down the Championship table and they have now made a move to bring in former Portsmouth boss Appleton.
