Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho recalled goalkeeper Iker Casilas for Wednesday's Spanish Cup clash against Celta Vigo having controversially dropped the club captain to the bench for the last 2 La Liga games.

Casilas had been axed in favour of deputy Antonio Adan, with the move interupted as an attempt by Mourinho to a reassert his authority over a campaign which has seen Real slip 16 points behind Barcelona in the title chase.

Casilas was called into action after just six minutes of Saturday's 4-3 win over Real Sociedad after Adan was red-carded.
