University of Ibadan (UI) is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following academic positions:
(I) DEPARTMENT OF CLASSICS
Position: Professor
Area of Specialization:
(a) Greek and Roman Rhetoric
(b) Greek and Latin Languages
(c) Ancient Philosophy
Requirements:
• Applicants should possess Ph.D degree in Classics with adequate teaching experience including evidence of research and publications.
• Applicants must be able to demonstrate mastery of at least one of the above-listed areas.
• Ability to contribute to the teaching of either the Greek or Latin Language is mandatory.
(II) DEPARTMENT OF LINGUISTICS AND AFRICAN LANGUAGES
Position: Lecturer II
• Applicants must possess Ph.D in Linguistics with specialization in I Syntax from a reputable/recognized University and must also be able to teach an African Language.
• A minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a relevant discipline/subject in a Tertiary Institution I will be an advantage.
Position: Lecturer II
• Applicants must possess Ph.D in Linguistics with specialization in (Yoruba Linguistics-Phonetics, Phonology and Syntax from a reputable/recognized University.
• A minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a Tertiary Institution will be an added advantage.
(III) DEPARTMENT OF RELIGIOUS STUDIES
Position: Lecturer1/11
Area of Specialization: Christian Theology
Requirements:
Applicants should possess Ph.D degree in the field of Christian Theology with at least three years teaching experience at the University level.
Position: Lecturer II
Requirements:
Applicants should possess Ph.D degree in the field of Christian Theology with three years teaching experience in a recognized University.
(IV) DEPARTMENT OF THEATRE ARTS
Positions: Arts Fellow 1/11
Applicants should possess Ph.D in Drama/Theatre, with' specialization in any of the following theatre art forms:
(I) Media
(II) Acting, Mime and Movement
(III) Directing
(IV) Management.
Preference will be given to applicants who: (i) are versatile (ii) have had a least five years demonstrable practical experience in their field (iii) have at least five years teaching experience at part or full-time level at the University level and (iv) who have at least three publications in learned journals.
