Governors from three geo-political zones rose yesterday from a meeting, chaired by their Kwara State counterpart and leader of the Governors' Forum, Bukola Saraki, with a firm resolve to ensure the stability of the country and support the presidential aspiration of President Goodluck Jonathan in the April, 2011 elections.
The meeting, which is a continuation of the first meeting held in Asaba, the Delta State capital at the instance of the Governor, Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, deliberated on critical national issues bordering on fostering the nation's nascent democracy, security, law and order, economic development, as well as the need to rally all sections of the country to buy into Jonathan's presidential bid in April.
Among those who attended yesterday's meeting in Ilorin, were Governors Bukola Saraki of Kwara, Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta, Theodore Orji of Abia, Timipreye Silva of Bayelsa, Liyel Imoke of Cross River, Babaginda Aliyu of Niger, Suswan of Benue, Chime of Enugu, Elechi of Ebonyi, Deputy Governor of Nassarawa State, who represented his Governor, and peter Obi of Anambra State.
