Post by: Folami David on Jan 17, 2013, 02:27 PM
Coach Pep Guardiola who will take control of Bayern Munich as from next season, was convinced by the overall image of the fantastic German club and not lured by cash, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said on Thursday.
.
Guardiola, who is learning German and will stay in New York for now to avoid distracting the team and current coach Jupp Heynckes, agreed a 3-year deal with 4-times European champions in a major coup for Bayern.
.
'' Money was not the issue for Guardiola '', Rummenigge told a packed news conference. '' We could see that Pep had a fondness for Bayern and could see himself working here ''.
.
'' We have a good image and you could see that in the talks with Guardiola '' said Rummenigge. '' He liked the whole package. This is what we threw into the equation ''.
