Senior Project manager's job purpose:
responsibilities span a broad spectrum; covering all areas of Project Management for overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, cost management, Time management, Quality management, contract administration, safety management, project accounting and control while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The Senior Project Manager must have handled Multi-Million Dollars projects because of the current projects AMG is involved in.
Job role & description:
The Senior Project Manager is to give support to the Employer and provide guidance to the Project Team with particular reference to the following functions:
• Leading and motivating the Project Management Team to ensure that Client's objectives for the Project are achieved,
• Overall responsibility for the Asset Management Group Quality Management System and Safety /Environmental Management System.
• Construction Management strategy advice.
• Represent the Client and the Project team vis-à-vis Trade Contractors
• Developing and maintaining project procedures for as a part of PEP: – co-ordinating the activities of Project Team participants; – reporting and communication systems; – acceptance and signing off of developed Design Brief, Design, Working Drawings; – cost control; – programming; – tender action, letting of contracts; – review of Client's insurance, Trade Contractors' insurance; – overview of site operations, safety monitoring; risk management; value management; change control; – valuation and payment, including issue of recommendations for payment to the Client; – overall management of clearance of defects; – hand-over of completed building; commissioning; hand over of the Project
• Producing Monthly reports.
• Relations with local authorities regarding site issues on behalf of the Client.
• Undertaking pre-qualification of suitable Trade Contractors and recommend tender list to the Client;
• Establish the Project commissioning procedures in conjunction with the Client and the Trade Contractors;
• Establish the Project handing over and final acceptance procedures for the Trade Contractors, and monitor their implementation;
• Assist the Client and Designer in obtaining local authorities' approvals for the Project occupancy & use;
• Ensure safe keeping during the construction and handover to the Client at the end of construction all documentation concerning construction materials used (quality certificates, other documents, describing and identifying materials used), installed equipment (instructions and manuals for use, guarantee documents etc.)
• Organise Client approval and sign off processes and monitor continuous application of agreed approval systems.
• Undertake an active role with the Trade Contractors in producing a Construction Organisation Plan.
• Monitor and expedite the Trade Contractor progress;
• Check the completeness and quality of the ongoing design, approval, permitting and other documentation and advice of any deficiencies therein.
• Handle multiple projects for the organisation.
• Approvals – Generally assist in obtaining all needed, in accordance with the valid Law, permissions and approvals for Project construction realisation, including permission for carrying out construction and installation works and service connections.
• Monitor and assist the Designer in obtaining, from the relevant authorities and organisations, approvals and permissions for design and construction.
• Develop and agree with the Client a Master Programme for design, procurement and construction;
• Incorporate interim milestones into Trade Contractor's contractual programmes;
• Review the Trade Contractor's detailed construction programmes & supplies schedule and expedite adherence.
Qualification/Experience:
• A four-year Bachelor's degree in civil engineering related course
• A postgraduate degree in construction management is an added advantage.
• Must have Msc or Certification in Project Management
• Minimum 15 years of experience in construction projects and majorly in project Management.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of legal issues and safety standards is essential.
• Must have worked on Multi-million dollars project
• Age between 30-45years

• Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.
• Capacity to handle pressure.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the construction sites.
• Physical and mental fitness is a given.
• Must be an expert in Project Management documentation
