Juventus has signed France stricker Nicolas Anelka from Shanghai Shenhua for a 5 months contract, the club preisdent Beppe Moratta has said.

The former France international, 33, has become the Serie A defending champions 2nd player to be signed after Spain player Fernando Llorente who joined them on the 1st of July.

Moratta told Sky Sport Italy that the deal wasn't official yet, but the media said Anelka himself had shown interest for a while now.

'' It's sort of like an emergency deal. We've signed a 5 months deal with Anelka ''.

'' He would be able to help us within the short period he'll be here, but when the season ends, we will know what step to take next ''.
