SUPER Eagles' head coach, Stephen Keshi, has said he will not blame midfielder, John Obi Mikel for wasting a penalty goal-opportunity in Friday's Group C 1-1 draw in Nelspruit, South Africa because there is no "specialist in spot-kicks."
"I won't blame Mikel,'' Keshi said at the post-match press conference.
"If you remember, he scored Nigeria's fourth goal against Liberia during the qualifier through a penalty kick. If he had scored, we would have said 'what a great penalty!' There is no specialist in spot kicks, it is either it goes in or out,'' Keshi said.
Though Keshi said he had hoped the Eagles would win the game, he was unruffled by the draw.
"Zambia are the African champions and I have a lot of respect for them, so I am satisfied with the result.''
On what to expect against Ethiopia in thelast Group C game, Keshi said his team could only work hard to win the game.
"Every game has its own spirit and peculiarity, we will work hard to win this game,'' Keshi said.
