His wife Mitovwodo assures him that he will not die since he has withstood greater challenges in his life – like Chief Bekederemo's survival when his half-brother Sabolo shoots him in the chest with a double barrel gun, when Chief Dore Numa sends an ark of small pox to him and when Agbodobiri people tell Chief Dore Numa and the white friends that he has committed multiple murder in the matter of twins, Erekebena, Chief Bekederemo's wife, her father and entire family absolve him of the murder charge.
