Title: 'Eagles were better'
Post by: Shola Sholaz on Feb 05, 2013, 12:29 AM
Cote d'Ivoire stricker Salomon Kalou has admitted that the Super Eagles were full value for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final victory over the Elephants.
.
The Ivorians were expected to defeat the Eagles who had struggled in the group stages, but the Nigerians were a different team last night and they outclassed the highest ranked team in Africa.
.
'' We played against a very good Nigerian team '', the Lille star said. '' They started the game very well and they got a goal. We came back strong but they brought more power into the game. They played a very good and we have to accept they played better than we did ''.
.
The ex-Chelsea star had a bet with his former colleague, Nigeria's Mikel Obi before the game. When asked about the bet, Kalou smiled and said : '' He won. I gave him my shorts ''.

Obviously they were.
