A GROUP of eminent Nigerians under the platform of the Project Nigeria has warned of an impending anarchy in the land unless the Presidency and the National Assembly convene a national conference before the conduct of the 2015 general elections.
Project Nigeria, jointly chaired by Professor Ben Nwabueze and Maitama Sule, said this in Lagos Saturday after the deliberation of the body on the state of the nation, that has Chief Philip Asiodu, Ayo Adebanjo, Felix Ibru, Mike Ozekhome, among others in attendance.
Nwabueze anchored the Group's position on the premise that there is high disconnect between the people and their leaders.
He added that the group "believes in one Nigeria" and, therefore, affirms its faith and commitment to one united nation. He pleaded with the press to work for the preservation of the country.
In his contribution, Sule said that the group would consult and ensure that when the national conference is convened, all groups, regions, civil societies would be represented in a process that would give birth to a people's Constitution.
