Title: Joseph Yobo might start
Post by: Folami David on Feb 10, 2013, 09:19 AM
Head coach of the Nigeria national team Stephen Keshi has dropped the strongest possible hint that captain Joseph Yobo may be in the frame to start Sunday's 2013 Afcon against Burkina Faso.
.
Yobo started against the Burkinable in Nigeria's opening game of the competition on January 21 but lost his place in the starting line-up following an injury he picked up in the game.
.
The Fenerbache defender has since recovered from the knock as he featured in all but one of the Eagles' games since the 1-1 draw against Burkina Faso in Nelspruit.
.
Keshi has now said that Yobo could start Sunday's final at the FNB Stadium, Johannesbourg.
.
'' My captain started the first game but got injured so we had to draft in someone else in the next game. But he has recovered now and we have to make a decision whether he starts on Sunday or not '', Keshi disclosed at a pre-match press conference on Saturday.
