Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has splashed a total sum of about N100m on the members of the victorious Super Eagles who won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations held in South Africa. Just two days after the Stephen Keshi tutored side was lavishly rewarded by President Goodluck Jonathan at a special state reception at Aso Rock, Presidential Villa Abuja, where cash and plots of land were doled out to the players and their coaches, Governor Uduaghan shocked the players and their
officials with cash incentives.

At the Government House Asaba Thursday night, Uduaghan announced a cash reward of N8m to Super Eagles head coach, Stephen Keshi.

Besides, Governor Uduaghan named the Delta State ultra modern stadium in Asaba, Stephen Keshi Stadium. The edifice will be completed in six months time.

He also announced a donation of a plot of land and a duplex in the state capital for the Big Boss who also hails from Ila, near Asaba, the Delta State capital. Governor Uduaghan gave each of the Super Eagles assistant coaches N4m while each player of the squad got N2.5m.

In addition, each member of the state sponsored team Warri Wolves who made it to the Nations Cup, got an additional N2.5m just as the Warri Wolves team which showed presence at the reception got N5m.

The Delta State No.1 citizen also doled out N3m to the Nigeria Football and other Sports Supporters Club.

Delta State is the first of the 36 states of the Federation as well as FCT to host the victorious Super Eagles after they won the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa on February 10, 2013.
