It could not be better for Nigeria. First she wins her third Afcon title and then as if timed perfectly, Social Media Weekend arrives in Lagos with a huge game plan in tow.

This meeting of minds has been held in 26 cities around the world in the last four years of its inception, and now boats of more than a hundred thousand members.

Slated to run from February the 18th till the 23rd, the event will not just explore the importance of the global connection to the 21st century African, but it also intends to be presented in a very unique Nigerian way.

Participants will be treated to approximately 100 events earmarked for easily accessible venues throughout the greater Lagos metro area. Among these will include interactive presentations on the new trends on social media in the area of business, marketing, entertainment, and yes sports.

Enter SMW Football Day which looms as being the cherry on the pie. In conjunction with the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) Dragon Africa and AFRIKA21 who are the events producers, have aligned all the major players in Nigerian Sports for a night to remember. Jay Jay, Kanu and African Champion coach Stephen Keshi are just a few to mention.
