Title: Okemmiri fears NPFL blackout
Post by: Folami David on Feb 20, 2013, 08:36 PM
Former Kwara United winger, Anthony Okemmiri is worried he may not be in action when the 2012/2013 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) kicks off on March 9.
.
Okemmiri left the Afonja Warriors during the off- season with hope of joining Caf Champions League campaigners, Enugu Rangers but the move fell flat
leaving the player somehow stranded.
.
Efforts by the attacking winger to reunite with his former club, Kwara United for the new league season appears not to be yielding the desired result.
.
Okemmiri said he is unhappy after failing to get attached to a club less than 18 days to the commencement of the season.
.
"I'm not happy starting the league with my colleagues. I'm confused the way things are happening.
.
"I couldn't cement a place with Rangers for some reasons and my former team, Kwara United don't want me back perhaps they're not happy with the manner I left them.
.
"I strongly believe that when one door closes another one will surely open. I'm not giving up hope on securing a club to lace the boot for maybe now or in the nearest future," he said to supersport.com.
.
I learnt that hope exists for the estranged player to hit the ground once more for the IIorin-based perhaps not immediately.
.
Kwara United will face city rivals, ABS on Matchday 1 of the NPFL at the Kwara State Stadium, IIorin on March 9.
