  FINANCE MINISTER INAUGURATES DR. NDANUSA-LED SEC BOARD             The Coordinating Minister for the economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has inaugurated the new Board of Securities and Exchange Commission, chaired by Dr. Suleyman Abdu Ndanusa.

Members of the SEC Board include Mallam Mounir Haliru Gwarzo, Mrs. Sa’adatu Mohammed Bello, Rt. Hon. Zakawanu Imhobobho Garuba, Barrister Adefunke Abiodun and Mr. Ugochukwu Ikemba. Other members are the DG, SEC, Ms Orunma Oteh, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, and a representative of the CBN.

 

  At the occasion, the Finance Minister charged the new Board to ensure that the capital market proceeds in the direction that will be beneficial to the country’s economy.

She reminded them that the capital Market is a very important sector of the country’s economy thus they should brace-up for the extraordinary assignment that they have been saddled with.

After the inauguration, the Chairman of the new Board, Dr. Suleyman Abdu Ndanusa promised that the new Board will work with the DG of SEC to achieve the objectives of the Commission.

The inauguration was witnessed by the Minister of State for Finance, Yerima Ngama.
