(http://fmi.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/educationvist-300x192.jpg) The Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson, has commended the Federal Government for the steps taken to reposition the education sector, especially the establishment of the new Federal Universities to widen access at the apex of the educational system. He pledged that his government will continue to partner with the Federal Government in seeking solutions to the challenges facing the sector.
The Governor made the commendation when the Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufa'i, paid a courtesy visit to him at the Government House, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Governor Dickson applauded the Minister's leadership qualities, saying that her doggedness and dedication to duty has not only made it possible to conceptualize the establishment of the new Universities but brought them up to the level to commence academic programmes.
Briefing the Governor earlier on efforts being made by the Federal Government to reposition the education sector, Prof. Rufa'i said that government's motive is to ensure that the education system is on track, to produce manpower needed to fast-track the development of the country.
The Minister appreciated the State Government's new initiative to promote quality education service in the State, and the massive support to the Federal University, Otuoke.
